Hey , my name is Jordan Kawai and I’m part of Dr. Strangelove’s Theories of Media class, CMN 2160 B. This blog will function as a journal for mind’s path through the researching and filming process of my video project.
In taking a variety of classes in communications I am intersted in discovering the common ties and integrating those into application in discovering the possible reasoning to explain why web 2.0/social networking is the phenomenon that it is. And furthermore, I aim to uncover the connections from old media theorists’ and new media. In finding any connection I believe this will pave a path for insight into possibly foreseeing the lifeline and life course of this new medium.
Though going to Ottawa U takes up a fair chunk of my time, I also have a lot of interest in music. So far in my life I play bass, electric and acoustic guitar, and take the time to play in a variety of groups of a variety of genres of music. Though I am taking communications in school, I always try to seek ties and connections in music and the studies of communications whereever I can. Seeing as how web 2.0 and social netowrking and media sharing is taking such a tole in the music industry, I have always been interested in researching and discovering and creating a way to revive the music listening world by implementing a more fair yet interactive way of sharing tunes. As you’ll disover in my blogs that I truly believe that both medium and message is evolving, and I hope to eventually be part of benefiting that evolution at some time in my life.
